Project description
The Pavillion was created for the 2015 Milan Expo with the theme “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. The pavilion design is called “Fields of Ideas”, with the large membrane-covered shelters in the shape of sprouting plants, visually arresting and inviting visitors to explore, while at the same time providing shade for visitors in the hot Italian summer. Organic photovoltaic (OPV) technology has been used, turning the 'seedlings' in to solar trees. The bottom half of the pavilion uses EQUITONE for its Lamellar Structure, which allows natural light and ventilation.
